Privacy Policy

Axon Analytics LLC ("Axon Analytics", "we", "us") builds consumer software, including yardxsale. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little as possible and to keep your data on our own infrastructure wherever we can.

Information we collect

• Account information. If you create an account, we store your email address (required) and, optionally, a display name. You can sign in with Google, Apple, or a magic link.
• Optional profile data. If you choose to save a home location for nearby-sale results, we store those coordinates. You don't have to.
• Approximate location. To sort results by distance, we use your browser's location (only with your permission) or an approximate, city-level location derived from your IP address. For anonymous visitors, this approximate location is not stored.
• Content you submit. Sale listings, photos, favorites, and saved searches you create.
• Limited technical data. We record the IP address used at signup to help prevent abuse, and basic logs needed to operate and secure the service.

How we use information

To provide and improve the Services: to authenticate you, show relevant nearby sales, store the content you create, process payments for paid features, send transactional email (such as sign-in links and receipts), and keep the service secure.

How your photos and listings are analyzed

Item recognition runs on our own self-hosted vision models. Your uploaded photos are not sent to a third-party AI provider for this analysis. Photos are stored with our storage provider (see below) so they can be served back to you.

Service providers we share data with

We use a small number of trusted providers to run the service. They process data only to provide their function and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes:

• Stripe — payment processing for paid features. Card details are entered on Stripe's hosted checkout and never reach our servers.
• Resend — sends transactional email (sign-in links, receipts, notifications).
• Backblaze B2 — stores uploaded photos.
• Cloudflare — content delivery, security, and approximate IP-based geolocation.
• PostHog — product analytics, loaded only if you accept analytics in the cookie banner.
• Sentry — error monitoring, when enabled, to diagnose crashes.

Separately, to enrich public sale listings (for example, price comparisons or catalog details), we query services such as eBay, Discogs, and a web-data provider. These queries contain only public listing or item data — never your account information or your location.

What we never do

We do not sell or share your personal information for advertising or third-party marketing. Your saved location is used only on our servers to filter results and is never sent to any third party.

Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in. We use a single analytics cookie (PostHog) only if you opt in through our consent banner. No advertising cookies, no third-party tracking pixels.

Data retention

We keep account and content data while your account is active. You can delete your account, after which we delete or de-identify your personal data except where we must retain limited records (for example, payment records) to comply with law.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to limit what we collect and where it lives.

Children

The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Your California privacy rights

Axon Analytics LLC is a California company. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect, to access or delete it, to correct it, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. The categories of personal information we collect are described above (identifiers such as email and IP address, approximate geolocation, and user-generated content). We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under California law. To exercise any right, email support@axonanalytics.net.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above. Continued use of the Services means you accept the updated policy.
